Rescue Technician Lead - Seasonal Assignment

Capstone Fire and Safety is looking for experienced and professional first line supervisors of dedicated standby Confined Space Rescue Teams.  Our customers include State and Local public works departments (Water and Wastewater), power generation facilities, and construction companies. This is a seasonal assignment. 

Rescue Technician Lead

  • The Lead Rescue Technician is responsible for managing and supervising a technical rescue team of 2-5 individuals. 
  • Lead Rescue Technicians are responsible to supervise and perform set up, rigging, atmospheric monitoring of vessels or spaces and perform rescues of injured/ill entrants
  • Leads are responsible for communicating in a clear, timely and professional manner to coworkers, customers, sub-contractors and vendors
  • The lead Rescue Technician will provide all the site specific paperwork to include daily unit logs, Confined  Space Permits, Rescue plans, and incident reports (as Needed).

Travel:  Rescue Team members are required to travel up to 75% of their working time.  Travel may include long road trips or Air travel.  Travel includes overnight stays in hotels, sharing rooms with co-workers.   We follow 2:1 work rest guidelines.  

Minimum Requirements:

All candidates MUST have clean background investigation and successfully pass an initial drug screening upon offer of employment.

DMV/EDUC

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Valid Medical Examiner’s Card
  • Clean Driver’s Record
  • High School Diploma or GED

EMS

  • CPR with AED
  • EMT (Desired)

PHYS FIT

  • CSR Physical Agility Test (see job description for details)
  • Pass full DOT physical  (bending, pushing, pulling, crouching, and vision) 

BACKGROUND

  • Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)
    • Pass Federal TSA background check for access into installations near waterways and sensitive security areas

Minimum Experience:

  • Three (3) years in a professional fire department and/or Industrial CS Rescue Work

 Minimum Training:

  • Confined Space Rescue Technician (40hrs) (Other agencies will be accepted, but specific Capstone rescue jobs require CA State Fire Marshal Rescue Technician and   must be met prior to Job Assignment)

(AND)

  •          I-100 and/or IS-700

Desirable Qualifications:

  •          40hr HAZWOPER
  •          I-200, I-300,
  •          CA State Fire Marshal Trench Rescue,
  •          CA State Fire Marshal Rescue Systems I
  •          OSHA 30 – General Industry
  •          Scott SCBA Technician, MSA Atmospheric Technician
Compensation: $16.00-$23.00 per hour - Seasonal Assignment
